Lavertezzo is a picturesque municipality in the Verzasca valley of Switzerland, known for its crystal-clear waters and the Ponte dei Salti bridge. It comprises the village of Lavertezzo and the exclave of Lavertezzo Piano in the Magadino valley.
Dating back to 1327, the land and surrounding area was used for farming and grazing. Locals would live here during the summer months before heading down to lower levels for the winter.
The 18th century Parish Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Lavertezzo is known for its elegant architecture and stunning frescoes. The Church and its tall bell tower are iconic features of the area and embody the spiritual and cultural history of the region, surrounded by the beauty of the Swiss Alps.
The area now offers opportunities for swimming, hiking and enjoying the natural beauty of the valley and the tranquillity of this hidden gem.
