Kinnaird Head Lighthouse – Original Pen & Watercolour Painting

This lovely pen and watercolour painting is my interpretation of Kinnaird Head Lighthouse in Fraserburgh, on the north east coast of Aberdeenshire, Scotland, a subject I’ve returned to many times over the years.

The lighthouse building started life as a castle, built for the Fraser family in the 1500s and then altered in 1787 to contain the first lighthouse built by the Northern Lighthouse Board. The building in the foreground was the castle’s wine store. Kinnaird Head is open to the public and the Museum of Scottish Lighthouses is located only a short walk away.

This original pen & watercolour painting is approximately 7” x 5” on Saunders Waterford 300gsm watercolour paper using Unipin fineline pens and Winsor & Newton Professional Quality watercolours.
