Torry is one of the oldest parts of Aberdeen with records dating back nearly 900 years. However, much of the quaint old fishing village was lost in 1871 when the course of the River Dee was diverted and the remainder demolished in the 1970s to make way for Aberdeen’s North Sea Oil Base.
I’ve done a series of five pen and watercolour paintings of scenes in and around Old Torry, based on the memories and photos of some of those that knew the area.
