Gearrannan Blackhouse Village

Gearrannan Blackhouse Village is a coastal crofting village situated in a secluded bay within the district of Carloway, on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, UK.

Since 1989 the local community trust has been painstakingly restoring the once derelict properties and croft land using traditional methods to recreate an authentic settlement, but with modern facilities.

The Village now offers cottage accommodation, historical activities, and many fantastic walking, cycling and fishing opportunities. There’s even a small shop selling gifts and a café offering delicious homemade food.
